Introduction to the Dossier: “Corporate Responsibility in Human Rights Violations against Workers in the Dictatorships of the Southern Cone”
Abstract
The study of dictatorial processes in various Latin American countries has expanded and enriched in recent years, drawing upon increasingly interdisciplinary work and the progressive integration of production from different countries in the region. The three articles included in this dossier show how business groups and their officials played a key role in providing resources from the private property of their companies, as well as the resources necessary to threaten, torture, interrogate and use a wide range of violent practices against workers and trade unionists.
