This paper utilizes archival sources to uncover an endeavor to establish fiscal control over the ceramic production in the city of Granada in 1517. By analyzing this process and examining the response of the artisan community, we gain insight and contemplate the various forms of resistance mechanisms and internal organization within this specific group of artisans. Furthermore, whenever feasible, it is important to compare these findings with data from other studies, while providing context and integrating them into a broader understanding of the pottery sector.
