Abstract

This section is based on an investigation into what the accumulation of studies on Latin America can contribute to historiographical reflection on work and commercial sex. To this end, it brings together authors who wrote about prostitution in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and Peru between the end of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century. They were invited to reflect on the connections and tensions between the histories of prostitution and the worlds of work based on their research experiences.
